One of the bbill that smacked me between the eyes was this quote here because this was so me. Some books you savor like a Frango mint melting in your mouth.
For those in front lines Kingdom Work, I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It strikes me that Willowcreek grew so big in part because they were well-led and well-organized to handle growth.
Since my first encounter with Hybels aroundI’ve been a student and fan. But I would still count this among one of the best books for a Christian leader to read!
That doesn’t necessarily detract from the wisdom of his axioms, but it does create the impression that leadership and programs are far more important than the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.
This is a must read for all leaders!

The man is fired up about, I think just three things the local church, evangelism and leadership well possibly sailing as well but he’s not written a book on that yet. However, the leadership culture Hybels represents may feel alien to church leaders who attempt to follow his suggestions.
However, I do not think it would be the best book to start with for novice or entry leaders because they would not be able to relate to the emotions that Hybels speaks about in those sticky situations and may require more explanations and more life experiences in order to get the most out of it.

If you’re a leader or aspire to leadership then this is a great book to read, it will sharpen your thinking no end, give you great insights into hybe,s leadership challenges and battles and set you thinking with renewed energy about how to advance in your area of leadership.
His book, Rediscovering Church: Many of the proverbs give you something to think about and give you some wisdom to take with you or use in making decisions. If you can’t answer “Yes” to all three things, then don’t do it.

Hybels has little patience for people in leadership positions who don’t voraciously read books written by other leaders. As an added bonus reflecting on each axiom developed within me a daily habit of reflection time. I also like this genre because it allows one to read in bites.
For example, “umbrella of mercy” or “vision leaks” bil phrases I use almost daily.
