I thought that the novel “Dear Nobody” was a very outstanding book of a pregnant teenager who was very confused. The two main characters of this book are Chris and Helen. Helen and Chris are both seniors, during the school year Helen becomes pregnant with Chris’s baby and is left to make a decision on what to do with the unborn baby.
She is pressured greatley by her non-understanding mother to have a abortion. Throughout the book Helen writes letters to her unborn baby about her most personal thought. This book to me gives a great perspective of a teenage girl, going through very confusing issues and how she deals with the changes her body is going through. The author does a termendous job of stating realistic facts. The novel is always leaving you wondering what is going to happen next.
I never knew if Chris and Helen would stay together or not. I gave “Dear Nobody” four stars because it was well written and a great book to read, but it was drug out in some places.
One person found this helpful. Helen, who gets pregnant, and her boyfriend Chris, also the father of her unborn child. The unwanted pregnancy brings about all the troubles that both now have to face, for unfortunately they want to study at two different universities.
So now their plans for the future seem to be made in vain. Additionally both teenagers have problems with their parents: I would recommend it especially to young people, because the book really deals with the current problems of today’s youth. This book was stunningly beautiful. The plot is lovely and the characters are real. This book creats no pretty illusions.
It reveals the frightening reality of being young and pregnant. Helen and Chris are young, foolish and in love. They are in no way ready for the results of unprotected sex. When Helen discovers she is pregnant, she is terrified.
But soon, she is ready to deal with her pregnancy, and Chris is not. Chris stands by her, but she ends the relationship, feeling its for his own good. But Chris feels he has a right to play a part in his babys life. This story is magnificently told, and truthful. Unlike other stories of pregnant teenagers, this book precents the an honest veiw of Helen and Chris’s situation. I would recommened this book to anyone, its so wonderful that everyone deserves to read it.
A Kid’s Review 4. You may ask, “who is Nobody? Nobody is Chris’ baby too, and so when Helen breaks their relationship saying, “I just need some time to figure everything out” he is furious. This just adds to Chris’ list of problems of passing his exams, finding and talking to his ex-mother, and making his desions about college. Helen also has many probems to deal with, like college, exams, abortion, and regaining her mother’s friendship and love.
I was really overwhelmed by “Dear Nobody”. The main characters Helen and Chris are both seniors and deeply in love when Chris gets Helen pregnant unwanted. Chris’s narrative and Helen’s letters to her unborn baby whom she calls “Nobody” show up how they cope with their new circumstances.
Some passages can almost move you to tears because it is written in a realistic way. I just finished this book and it was so good.
I would reccomend it to anyone who likes to go see romantic comedies at the movies. I couldn’t put it down and it only took me 2 days to read it. I hope that everyone dohetry who reads this will emjoy it as much as I did. See all 30 reviews. There’s a problem loading this menu right now. Learn more about Amazon Prime.
